Mantis: A Photo Essay.

 Mantis Encounter and Much More!

The aftermath of getting to see a Praying Mantis, 1 encounter: Countless Pictures.

It was dark, when I saw something green colored moving outside the window, on the grill. As it was windy outside, I assumed it must be some piece of plastic which might have stuck there. I went close to observe it and what I found was this insanely beautiful Praying Mantis!

An attempt to demonstrate the situation.

They are pretty good posers!

It was walking on the glass window, which gave me an opportunity to look at the underside of the Mantis more clearly. Just look at those patterns! So intricate!

Mantises to me seem like this alienated kind of Insect which stumbled on the Earth, I mean look at those eyes! that head structure!  Have you ever seen an insect like that! well Insects are the most diverse group of organisms inhabiting the Earth till date! Pretty cool creatures! Aren't they?

A few days later I had another encounter with a Mantis, in the compound of the society! Also the fact that these organisms are found in an urban setting is quite amusing. Don't under-estimate the urban biodiversity!

You never know what you gonna find. The only thing is that one should look for it! or sometimes they cross your paths and trust me when that happens, the happiness in that moment is something which I cant express! It just randomly appears in front of you and you are all like- "Damn! *In Will Smith's voice* This moment of my life is called Happiness" [Dialogue source-  The Pursuit to Happiness!]

Yeah, so the other encounter I had was with a Mantis Nymph which was equally amusing!
My mother found it sitting on a black rod in the society compound ! Had the rod not been Black,  we would have never spotted it! Yeah my mother for sure has a good  eyesight for all such stuff! The other day she spotted a Checkered Keelback Snake in an artificial pond created in a garden! Pretty cool eh! Yeah!

A Mantis Nymph

Their camouflage level is unreal!
Left- One has to closely observe to find out where the Mantis, Right-  against a green background.

Left- The original place where I found the Mantis, Right- back in the wild.
